Skilled Mohel Serving Brooklyn, NY — Rabbi Shlomo Golish

Brooklyn has one of the most diverse and vibrant Jewish populations in the world — from Borough Park and Crown Heights to Flatbush, Williamsburg, and Midwood. In such a rich community, families look for a mohel who can combine halachic precision, professional skill, and genuine warmth when performing their son’s bris milah (circumcision). With over 15 years of experience, I am honored to serve Brooklyn families with ceremonies that are safe, respectful, and deeply meaningful.

Every family’s needs are different. Some want a large simcha with many guests; others prefer an intimate gathering at home. My role is to guide you through every step — from choosing the timing to preparing for the ceremony to ensuring your baby’s comfort during and after the bris. My training allows me to perform a quick, precise procedure that minimizes discomfort and supports fast healing.

Before the bris, I perform a pre-bris evaluation to confirm your baby’s readiness and to discuss any customs or family traditions you want to incorporate. I bring all the necessary instruments and supplies so you can focus entirely on the spiritual and celebratory aspects. Afterward, I remain available for follow-up and provide clear aftercare instructions.

One of the most meaningful parts of the ceremony is the announcement of your son’s Hebrew name — the name he will be called by in the synagogue, at the Torah, and in Jewish life. Many parents name their sons after loved ones, while others choose based on meaning or personal inspiration. If you need ideas, my Hebrew Boy Names list offers hundreds of names with variations, traditional and Israeli.

I proudly serve families across Borough Park, Crown Heights, Flatbush, Williamsburg, Midwood, Kensington, and Marine Park. Whether you’re in the heart of Brooklyn or in a surrounding neighborhood, you can expect the same attention to detail, halachic integrity, and compassionate care.

You can explore past ceremonies in the Gallery, find answers to common questions in the FAQ, and learn more about my background and services on the Homepage.

If you’re in Brooklyn and want a mohel who brings skill, tradition, and personal attention to your family’s bris, please reach out — it would be my privilege to serve you.

Families planning a bris in Brooklyn have access to a wide range of synagogue social halls, kosher catering halls, restaurants with private event rooms, and elegant simcha spaces throughout the borough. Jewish communities across Boro Park, Flatbush, Midwood, Williamsburg, Crown Heights, Marine Park, Kensington, Gravesend, and surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods regularly host brissim in both intimate family settings and larger catered venues. Many families choose locations close to local synagogues and community centers to make attendance easier for relatives, friends, and out-of-town guests.

Some families prefer a warm and private home bris with close family and a smaller seudas mitzvah, while others choose larger synagogue halls or upscale kosher venues that can comfortably accommodate extended family and community members. Brooklyn offers many established kosher event spaces and synagogue social halls suitable for weekday morning brissim, breakfast receptions, brunches, and full catered meals following the ceremony.

When choosing a bris venue in Brooklyn, families often consider practical details such as parking availability, proximity to public transportation, accessibility for grandparents and young children, room size, and the ability to accommodate a smooth and comfortable experience for both mother and baby. In busy Brooklyn neighborhoods, convenience and timing can play a major role, especially for morning brissim that take place shortly after Shacharis.

Whether hosting a bris in Boro Park, Flatbush, Williamsburg, Crown Heights, Midwood, or elsewhere in Brooklyn, families can find a variety of Jewish venues and kosher event spaces suitable for both elegant large gatherings and smaller, more intimate celebrations.
