Mohel & Bris Milah Services in Nassau County, Long Island by Rabbi Shlomo Golish, Certified Mohel.
From the Five Towns to Great Neck, Nassau County is home to some of Long Island’s most vibrant Jewish communities. As a certified mohel with over 15 years of experience, I have had the privilege of serving families throughout this region — performing bris milah (circumcision) ceremonies that are precise, halachically correct, and deeply personal.
Whether your bris will be held in your home, synagogue, or a simcha hall, my role is to make the process smooth and reassuring. I walk you through every step, from setting the date and preparing for the ceremony to ensuring your baby’s comfort during and after the bris. My technique is quick, minimizes discomfort, and is paired with clear aftercare guidance to promote fast healing.
Before the ceremony, I conduct a pre-bris evaluation to confirm your baby is ready and to address any questions or family customs you wish to incorporate. I provide all the instruments and supplies, so you can focus entirely on the spiritual and celebratory aspects of the day. After the bris, I remain available for follow-up and support.
A highlight of the ceremony is announcing your son’s Hebrew name — the name he will carry in Jewish life, be called to the Torah with, and pass on as part of your family’s story. Many parents choose a name to honor a loved one or to reflect a meaningful quality. If you’re looking for ideas, my Hebrew Boy Names list offers hundreds of names with different variations, Israeli and traditional.
I proudly serve Jewish families throughout the Five Towns (Cedarhurst, Woodmere, Lawrence, Inwood, Hewlett), Great Neck, West Hempstead, Oceanside, Merrick, Plainview, and East Meadow. (Far Rockaway is well within my scope as well)

If you are in Nassau County and want a mohel who combines halachic integrity, surgical precision, and genuine warmth, I would be honored to be part of your family’s simcha.
Families planning a bris in Nassau County and Long Island have many excellent options ranging from intimate synagogue social halls to elegant kosher catering venues and private event spaces. Orthodox Jewish communities throughout Great Neck, the Five Towns, Woodbury, Roslyn, Westbury, Merrick, Hewlett, and surrounding Long Island neighborhoods often host brissim in synagogue halls, country clubs, hotel banquet rooms, restaurants with private event spaces, and family homes.
Some families prefer a smaller and more personal setting close to home, while others choose larger venues that can comfortably accommodate extended family, out-of-town guests, and full catered meals. Popular Long Island Jewish event venues include Orthodox synagogue social halls, glatt kosher catering halls, and upscale venues such as Westbury Manor, Crest Hollow Country Club, and event spaces throughout Nassau County that regularly host Jewish celebrations and simchas.
Morning brissim are especially common in Orthodox communities, making practical considerations such as parking, accessibility for grandparents, proximity to local synagogues, and comfortable accommodations for the mother and baby particularly important.
