Bris Milah Services for Westchester County Families — Rabbi Shlomo Golish
Westchester County has long been home to thriving Jewish communities — from the historic synagogues of New Rochelle and Mount Vernon, to the active shuls and schools of Scarsdale, White Plains, and Yonkers. Families here balance the bustle of the New York metro area with a strong commitment to tradition, and I’m proud to help preserve one of Judaism’s most cherished mitzvos: the bris milah.
Each bris is more than a medical procedure — it is a spiritual covenant, a link in the chain stretching back to Avraham Avinu. My role is to ensure that your family experiences this milestone with confidence, comfort, and joy. I bring over 15 years of mohel experience, having performed brissim in homes, synagogues, and community centers throughout the region. Whether the event is intimate or attended by hundreds, my focus is always on the well-being of your baby and the smooth flow of the ceremony.
I proudly serve families in Scarsdale, New Rochelle, White Plains, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Rye, and Harrison, and often travel to nearby areas such as Riverdale, Rockland County, and southern Connecticut. No matter the setting, I prepare all necessary instruments, explain each step to parents, and provide thorough aftercare guidance so you can feel assured from beginning to end.
One of the most meaningful moments in the ceremony is the giving of your son’s Hebrew name. Many choose to honor a loved one’s memory; others select a name for its beauty, biblical roots, or symbolic meaning. If you’re looking for inspiration, my Hebrew Boy Names list offers hundreds of names with transliterations, varieties, and common nicknames for names.
To learn more about my approach, you can explore the Gallery for photos from past brissim, read the FAQ for answers to common questions, or visit the Homepage for a full background on my training and experience.
If you live in Westchester County or the surrounding region and are seeking a mohel who combines deep respect for halacha with professional skill and personal warmth, I would be honored to be part of your simcha. Feel free to reach out.
